Local Des Moines-based after school and full week camps fulfill the mission and vision for My Own New Biz.  During the camps, children learn how to create and market a retail product.  This includes, using a spreadsheet, how to calculate the cost, retail price and profit of their product.  By week’s end, the children sell their item door to door and to local businesses - dividing their week’s profits between themselves and a charity of their choice.

Camp education materials are varied based on the age of the campers with one focus group for ages 8 – 12 and another at 13 – 15.  Children 13-15 will focus on importing and exporting with pen pals around the world.

Curriculums are developed by Master Degree teachers and camp ratios are maintained at 8 campers to one teacher.

Camps are held Winter Break, Spring Break, Summer Break and after-school programs are also available.
